Craneburg Construction Offices

Craneburg Construction, a major contractor in Nigeria, approached Highly Creative Minds for a solution to their overcrowded headquarters accommodation in Lagos.  The brief developed as requiring the re-location, with minimal disruption, of their senior management team into a new block alongside the current offices with a dedicated entrance and conference facilities also to be included.  Taking form as a three-storey block with a deep cantilevered front façade acting as a Porte cochere to the entrance the design showcases their construction skills by adopting a fully exposed fair-faced concrete frame internally and externally.  Extensive façade glazing as well as a skylight and glass enclosure to the stair flood the interior spaces with natural light delivering a comfortable and spacious working environment.

A compact plan, of just over 700m2 GLA, sees the primary accommodation organised either side of a central spine that contains the lift, stair and a floor void that opens up the heart of the building through to the skylight above.  Cellular offices are accessed from this atrium area, each having a generous private working space plus ready access to adjoining meeting room facilities.  The upper floor also hosts the Managing Director’s suite, which has direct access to one of the conference rooms as well as a dedicated external terrace.
