Lets Try This @ Home represents twelve months of varied experiences from the author's life, compiled as a journal and exploring a series of events, aspirations and places. Its content ranges from bagpipe playing and journalism through to train spotting and the fear of flying via death and knitting.
Journey from Clapham Junction to Japan, from Manchester to the Moon with familiar and not so familiar faces as your companions. James Bond and Johnny Wilkinson rub shoulders with aunts and upstairs neighbours in this richly illustrated study of the fixed but ever-changing experience that is life.
As the title suggests, the underlying theme is a desire for change
and new experiences. Yet Lets Try This @ Home is no self-help guide
for the gullible; it is a record of attempts to instigate new opportunities,
some successful others not, laced with humour and wonderful imagery.
If it inspires a change in the reader's circumstance then so much
the better. If it's taken as a beautiful storybook to dip in and out
of then it will be no less a success. It's all about enjoying the
attempt and looking back, hopefully without too much embarrassment.
